With its superior geographical location, advanced hardware and high-standard property management services, the Prologis Shanghai Qingpu Distribution Center provides professional industrial infrastructure services for leading supply chain enterprises and large supermarkets, helping its customers reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Based in Shanghai, it serves the Yangtze River Delta with unique geographical advantages
When it comes to modern industrial property, location is of the utmost importance. The Prologis Shanghai Qingpu Distribution Center is located in the Qingpu Industrial Park, one of nine industrial development zones in Shanghai. The center is comprised of two projects (phase one and phase two), totaling 87,116 SQM. Well-considered site selection paves the way for a growing presence in the Yangtze River Delta supply chain market going forwards.
After more than 20 years of development, the Qingpu Center has undergone steady optimization and upgrading in terms of industrial investment, management and services, attracting a large number of manufacturing enterprises. Drawing on its superior geographical location, the strong comprehensive backing of the Qingpu Industrial Park, and gradually emerging synergies between neighboring industrial cities, the Prologis Center has blossomed into a property that boasts an attractive investment and development environment.
In terms of its geographic location and accessibility, the Qingpu Distribution Center is conveniently situated within close proximity to downtown Shanghai and enjoys quick access to surrounding highways and airports. The Prologis park is located within the G1503 Shanghai Ring Expressway. It is close to the S26 Shanghai-Changzhou Expressway, the G2 Beijing-Shanghai Expressway in the north, and the G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway in the south. It is 1.5 km away from the G1501 Chonggu Exit, 5 km away from the S26 Expressway, 12 km away from the G2 Expressway, and only 15 km away from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport via the Songze Elevated Highway, which has recently been fully opened. Meanwhile, the Qingpu Distribution Center is close to the 17 Huijin Lu Station on the Shanghai Metro Line and Qingpu New City, one of the five major new cities in Shanghai. The convenient location permits more facilities to meet the commuting and living needs of employees.
High standard design to improve efficiency
In order to enhance space utilization and operational efficiency, the Shanghai Qingpu Distribution Center (phase two) is fitted with a loading dock at both the north and south ends of the facility. This is one of the more prominent features and advantages of the second phase of warehouse planning.
A key feature of the park, this design can dramatically enlarge operating spaces, including parking spaces. While the first-floor warehouse area is about 30,000 SQM, the operating space on the north and south sides amounts to a respectable 15,000 SQM. In the north side, the presence of the second floor as a natural oversized dock shelter can allow the customers to carry out loading and unloading operations in a variety of weather conditions. It is particularly suitable for customers whose key requirements include a large site area and high operational efficiency.
In addition, the east and west sides of the second floor of the warehouse are equipped with ramps to ensure the efficiency of logistics vehicles running on the second floor. The load capacity of three tons per square meter for the second floor has been acclaimed as a benchmark in the industry. This is the result of heavy investment in the construction of the warehouse, which makes the second floor of the warehouse comparable to the first floor in terms of its load-bearing level. This new kind of warehouse can meet the various needs of customers, underlining the central concept of the Prologis Shanghai Qingpu Distribution Center which is to create a high standard design.
At the same time, in the design of the warehouse column spacing, the Shanghai Qingpu distribution center has carried out science-informed planning, greatly improving the warehouse utilization rate. The lowest clear height of the second floor of the warehouse is 10 meters. With thinner and more widely spaced columns, warehouses offer increased use efficiency (storage capacity rate) when using high shelves and 15%-20% storage locations. Customers, especially those involved in third-party logistics, can massively benefit from this kind of warehouse design.
Integration of lease and management to provide a professional guarantee
The Shanghai Qingpu Distribution Center has its own property management team. The property managers are all our internal employees. This self-management mode allows our customers to talk to us directly. This ensures that communication is effective and efficient, and also provides greater security and reliability for our customers.
A modern warehouse design also provides convenience for warehouse management. The Shanghai Qingpu Distribution Center is equipped with early suppression fast response (ESFR) sprinklers and has a robust and fully proven security system. With improvements in internal management and the operating system, the integration of warehouse leasing and management has been gradually upgraded, providing a comprehensive range of fast yet hassle-free services for logistics customers.
Leveraging its rich project experience and the advantages of industrial clustering in the Qingpu Industrial Zone, the Shanghai Qingpu Distribution Center will make the most of its infrastructure hardware going forward and continue to improve management services. Its overriding aim is to provide the Yangtze River Delta, and the larger national supply chain market, with more devoted warehousing and logistics solutions that better meet the needs of customers.
