On January 22 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Prologis was honored with a sixth-place ranking and is the top U.S. company on the 2019 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World list.
Prologis is also the only company categorized as a real estate investment trust (REIT).
This marks the tenth time Prologis has been named to the Global 100, which ranks publicly traded global companies on a broad scope of metrics related to environmental stewardship, social responsibility and governance (ESG). The list is widely considered to be the world’s most authoritative sustainability assessment.
“This top-ten ranking and recognition is a testament to our long-standing commitment to ESG,” said Prologis chief legal officer Ed Nekritz. “Our global ESG initiatives deliver significant value to our customers, shareholders and the communities in which we serve.”
Global 100 companies represent the top 1.3 percent in the world on sustainability performance. To determine the ranking, Corporate Knights analyzed 7,536 companies against global industry peers on a suite of up to 21 quantitative key performance indicators (including greenhouse gas emissions, clean revenue, leadership diversity and earnings) weighted to reflect each industry’s impact profile.
Founded in 2002, Corporate Knights is a Toronto-based specialized media company and investment research firm that focuses on "clean capitalism," promoting the thoughtful inclusion of social, economic and ecological concerns in pricing.
