On Prologis’ ninth annual IMPACT Day, four Prologis China teams—with volunteers from the offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Chengdu—created a world of fairy tales and imagination for children with special needs. The companionship and care of Prologis volunteers offered the children an unforgettable experience.
On December 10, the Shanghai volunteers took “children of the stars” (children with autism spectrum disorder) to a beautiful garden where they enjoyed nature and explored a variety of plants. The Prologis volunteers also teamed up with the children to make embossed table lamps, enabling the kids to explore their creativity.
Accompanied by the Shenzhen volunteers on November 26, another group of children of the stars visited The Bell Nature Wonderland in Sea World, a colorful park populated with undersea creatures and mermaids. The kids fed animals, watched magic shows and participated in coloring games.
On November 26, the volunteers in Beijing took part in a curling competition with hearing-impaired children and youth. Learning about the game, curling throwing and group competitions spurred the children’s enthusiasm for ice and snow sports.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteers in Chengdu and west China used recording studios or recording devices to record fairy tales and songs to conjure a colorful world of magic for children more than 900 kilometers away in the remote province of Qinghai, delivering love and kindness from Prologis digitally.
As the proverb says, “Love knows no boundaries.” IMPACT Day, when we give back to the communities in which we live and work, brings Prologis’ core values of Integrity, Mentorship, Passion, Accountability, Courage and Teamwork (IMPACT) to life.
